The National Sport Academy was established in 1995 as a unique and specialized learning environment within the public high school setting. Equestrian was introduced in 2005.
- In 2006, the National Sport Academy created the FlexSport Program to accommodate individual and team sport athletes wanting to create better balance between athletic and academic pursuits.
- Past and present FlexSport student athletes compete in the following sports: equestrian, swimming, tennis, track & field, figure skating, ringette, volleyball, triathlon, downhill ski racing, softball and soccer.
- National Sport Academy FlexSport student athletes are self-disciplined and self-motivated in both academics and athletics.
- The National Sport Academy FlexSport Program, grades 10 – 12, is offered at Central Memorial High School
